In the fall of 2003, I was preparing to retire from a thirty-seven year career with GE when an announcement was made that our church wanted to launch a clown ministry. I knew nothing about clowning, but being a goofy type of person, this appealed to me. And to be able to share the love of our Lord Jesus Christ through this ministry was intriguing. So I began attending seminars, workshops, conferences and camps to learn about this art from the heart.
As I began to invest more and more time and money, I decided it was time to branch out on my own. With encouragement from my best clown buddies, Gigit and Gemstone, the business became a reality. Snookums & Company was licensed January 2008 by the city of Salem, VA.
I am a member of the Virginia Santas, Christian Creative Arts Association, World Clown Association, Clowns of America International, Mid-Atlantic Clown Association and a charter member of the Fellowship of Christian Clowns, Int.
